Did you know … Muhlenberg County Public Libraries checks out movies on DVD?
We have more than just books!
Movie check-outs are another service we offer for free to library cardholders.
Each of our library branches offers a large selection of movies and TV shows on DVD. Up to three DVDs can be checked out at a time, and they can be kept for one week before they have to be returned to us.
We have more than 5,000 unique titles in our circulating video collection.
Our collection contains movies for all ages across a wide variety of genres, including both fiction and non-fiction.
You can find our DVD collection in the library during our open hours (Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.), or you can view our catalog online at https://pac.bc.sirsidynix.net/MCPL#!/search/ to see what’s available. Our digital catalog allows you to filter results by material type, in this case “DVD,” using the options on the left side of the screen.
You can also type “DVD” into the search box in our online catalog to view the movie collection. Most of our videos include that term as a keyword, so they should show up in your search.
We also accept requests for movies (or other items) that are not already in our collection. We cannot promise to purchase everything suggested to us, as some items are simply unavailable or cost prohibitive for our purposes. However, we try to accommodate as many patron requests as possible. Each request is carefully evaluated by our staff, considering cost, availability and demand for the item. Items that meet our selection criteria will be added to the collection of materials we check out to library users.
