Sticking around Muhlenberg County for Fall Break? Never fear, Muhlenberg County Public Libraries has plenty of opportunities for fun during the annual break week!

The week kicks off with a game day at Thistle Cottage in Greenville on Monday, Oct. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. We will have jumbo Jenga, jumbo Ker-Plunk, board games, cornhole and snacks. This event is for ages 10 to 18.

Tuesday, Oct. 6, is LEGO Day at the library in Central City. Kids can visit the library between 10 and 11:30 a.m. for LEGO free play, games (including bingo) and more.

Tuesday continues with “Frozen Fun” in the afternoon. Face painting, games and crafts will be available at Central City between 2 and 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday afternoon provides a chance to personalize your phone or phone accessories (for ages 10 to 18). Bring your phone case, charger, earbuds or any other accessory you’d like to decorate to Thistle Cottage from 1 to 4 p.m. Snacks will be provided.

We’ll host another game day Thursday, this time at Central City. We’ll have Wii games, board games and pizza and popcorn from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can also visit Thistle Cottage on Thursday afternoon (1-4 p.m.) for a tie dye event. Bring a shirt, pillowcase or any other item you’d like to dye. Snacks will be provided. This event is also for ages 10 to 18.

Teens and tweens (ages 10 to 18) can come back to Thistle Cottage Friday afternoon (1-4 p.m. again) to paint a bird house. Snacks, again, will be provided.

Finally, teens (9th through 12th grade) can attend our annual Zombie Prom Friday night at Central City! The party starts at 5 p.m. Teens, come dressed in your best zombie attire for a night of creepy fun. Food will be available, and there will be a contest for the best dressed zombie.

Teens will be expected to remain in the meeting room while attending the Zombie Prom.
