Muhlenberg County Public Libraries, Muhlenberg County Adult Education/ACE2 and the Felix E. Martin Jr. Foundation are partnering together to provide new opportunities for county residents.
Thanks to this partnership, Muhlenberg Countians will be able to access free online computer classes to improve necessary technology skills.
Classes will cover many topics, including computer skills for the GED, mouse tutorials, basic computer skills, file management, exploring the Web, e-mail basics, word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.
The classes, which are a service from national course provider Teknimedia, allow students to work at the their own pace and on their own schedule. Once registered, students will be able to access classes while at the library, at the Career Advancement Center or even from home. Registration, like the individual courses, is free. These classes will help local residents improve their computer skills without requiring them to invest a lot of money or attend classes at inconvenient times.
Funding for the program is provided by the Felix E. Martin Jr. Foundation. The program is administered as a collaborative effort by ACE2 and Muhlenberg County Public Libraries.
