This position is responsible for a wide-variety of IT related duties including but not limited to the general maintenance of computer hardware, software, networking devices and peripherals. In addition, customer service duties, requiring extensive interaction with the public and other staff members, including training of staff and the public along with occasional general clerk duties as scheduling demands. Some travel between library locations is required. This job requires an individual who is motivated and punctual with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to providing good customer service to library patrons. This individual must possess a sense of humor, integrity, honesty, tolerance and flexibility. This is a full-time position, and the successful applicant will be scheduled to work at least 36.25 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Some time outside of normal business hours may be required. References may be requested if not included on your resumé.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must pass background check.
- Drug screen may also be requested.
- Must pass a IT exam as part of the interview process.
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving history.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Extensive experience with modern IT equipment and software, including Microsoft Office products or equivalent alternatives, email usage, and other Internet applications.
- College degree or relevant technical certification(s) in computer-related field is desirable, but not required.
- Ability to operate general office equipment, such as multi-line phone, copy machine, and basic audiovisual equipment.
- Ability to properly handle financial transactions, including making change, accepting payments, and recording transactions.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or move items weighing up to 20 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
- Extensive customer service experience preferred.
