- The Muhlenberg County Public Library offers free wireless internet to all patrons who agree to the following:
- The library filtration system is CIPA compliant and as such websites that violate the United States Child Internet Protection Act will be unavailable through wireless internet.
- Individual users must accept responsibility for determining the suitability of content for themselves.
- No pictures, video, etc may be viewed or sent that can be construed as offensive to other library patrons.
- Sources of information on the internet do not always provide accurate, complete or current information. As with any material provided by the library, the users take responsibility in questioning the validity of the information found.
- Users may not use the library network to make unauthorized entry into another computer, device or network.
- Users may not disrupt or interfere with other computers or network users, services or equipment
- Users must respect the legal protections of data and software provided by the copyright and license laws.
- Users may not use the library network for any illegal or criminal purpose.
- Printing to the library printer charges 20 cents per page.
- Users are responsible for any charges incurred through online services during their use.
- The library is not responsible for personal devices connecting to the library’s network. This includes but is not limited to: Loss of data, malware, ransomware, viruses, identity theft, etc.
- Personal devices connecting to the library’s network are entirely the responsibility of the user. Library staff may not use or assist with non-library devices.
