This position is responsible for customer service duties, requiring extensive interaction with the public and other staff members, as well as retrieving and replacing materials in their proper locations to help maintain a tidy and organized space and other specialized tasks related to the circulation of library materials. Some travel between library locations may occasionally be required.
This job requires an individual who is motivated and punctual with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to providing good customer service to library patrons. This individual must possess a sense of humor, integrity, honesty, tolerance and flexibility.
This is a part-time position, and the successful applicant will be scheduled to work on an as-needed basis — up to 100 hours per month on average, usually 21.75 hrs/3 days per week. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must pass background check.
- Drug screen may also be requested.
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving history.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Proficiency with modern computer equipment, including typing, Microsoft Office products or equivalent alternatives, email, and other Internet applications.
- Ability to operate other office equipment, such as multi-line phone, copy machine, and basic audiovisual equipment.
- Ability to properly handle financial transactions, including making change, accepting payments, and recording transactions.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or move items weighing up to 20 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
- Extensive customer service experience preferred.
