Have you ever seen a tombstone that was dirty, stained and covered with lichens or other growth, making it more difficult to read? It is possible to restore those stones to a much more beautiful and legible state, BUT it's essential to do it properly to avoid causing additional damage! Tombstones can be surprisingly delicate, and bleach, scouring pads and many other common cleaning supplies can cause unnecessary erosion or discoloration. Join us for this hands-on workshop to learn what materials are safe to properly and safely care for those stones!
We will begin this program at Thistle Cottage with an overview of the process and materials used for cleaning, then we will move to Old Greenville Cemetery for some hands-on practice of our new-found knowledge.
All cleaning supplies and equipment will be provided, just make sure you wear old clothing and closed-toe shoes!
Space is limited for this program! We will begin accepting reservations on Sept. 11. Call us at 270-338-4760 to save your spot for this unique opportunity!
