It’s almost time – the annual Jubilee of Trees at Muhlenberg County Public Libraries’ Thistle Cottage begins December 1!
This year’s Jubilee of Trees will include almost 20 trees, decorated by county businesses and organizations. All trees are inspired by a different children’s book chosen by the business or organization sponsoring the tree.
Trees will be decorated by: Muhlenberg County Friends of the Library, Muhlenberg County Extension Service, Muhlenberg County Extension Homemakers, Muhlenberg County Relay for Life, Muhlenberg County Arts Council, Muhlenberg County Humane Society, Greenville Tourism Commission, Central City Tourism Commission, MCTI, Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Old National Bank, First Southern Bank, Happy Feet, SOAR, Pathway of Hope, Country Town Fabrics, Diversicare and Attorney Steve Lamb.
The Jubilee of Trees will be on exhibit at Thistle Cottage from December 1 through December 30. The public is invited to visit Thistle Cottage on December 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. for an open house. Hot chocolate and cider will be available, and visitors can view the trees and vote for their favorites.
Santa Claus will also be visiting Thistle Cottage on December 5 to sit for photos with our younger visitors. Santa Claus will be here from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for children to visit and have their photos taken. A disc of photos will be available for $10 (to be picked up at Thistle Cottage at a later date).
